Description

Caridina cf. babaulti "Green" is a beautiful shrimp from India for advanced shrimp keepers. Its beautiful green colour makes it stand out in any aquarium.

When fed green bell pepper, its green colour becomes even more intense after a few days.

Breeding can sometimes be somewhat difficult.

How breeding happens

Breeding can sometimes be somewhat difficult, as this shrimp is difficult to induce to breed.

Its reproductive mode is not entirely of the specialised type: the relatively small eggs do not hatch into fully developed juveniles, but into larvae that survive in freshwater and remain on the bottom. After a few days, they moult into juvenile shrimp.

The very small larvae must be protected from fish and filter intakes, the latter by means of very fine material.
