Description

The black-and-white Bee shrimp is comparable in many respects to the red-and-white Bee shrimp, but it is not quite as sensitive and breeds more readily.

It can also be kept and bred in harder, slightly alkaline water, but breeding success is greatest in slightly acidic, soft water.

The black-and-white Bee shrimp is also divided into "grades" according to its coloration/pattern.

The exact origin of this selectively bred form is unclear, but the original form allegedly comes from China.

How breeding happens

Mating takes place immediately after the female molts.
