Description

Alternanthera reineckii "rosaefolia minor" is a dwarf variety that forms compact bushes when grown submersed. It develops a deep brownish-red color, similar to A. reineckii 'Rosa', making it one of few red-colored foreground plants. This plant has moderate to high light and temperature requirements (22-28°C) with good CO2 and nutrient supply. Under submerged conditions, it grows slowly and has a low reproduction rate, doubling its population in about 6 weeks. Propagation is by top or lateral shoot cuttings or separating the bushes. It is often used in Dutch-style aquascapes as a red accent to contrast with green plants of lower to medium height.
