Description
Aponogeton eggersii is an aquatic plant native to the Anove river in eastern Madagascar. It was first introduced to Germany in 1998 by Gerd Eggers and scientifically described in 2001 by Josef Bogner and H.W.E. van Bruggen. This species can grow up to one meter long, producing leathery, band-shaped leaves that range in color from light to dark olive green. The leaf margins are undulating. Aponogeton eggersii is relatively easy to cultivate and does not require a resting phase. However, its height makes it suitable only for very tall tanks.
