Description
Aponogeton natans is a species of aquatic plant that originates from temporary stagnant waters in India and Sri Lanka. It has mostly floating leaves with lanceolate blades that can grow up to 11.5 x 3 cm in size. This plant is well-suited for shallow, open tanks with strong lighting. The white, pink or purple flower spikes are also a notable feature. In its natural habitat, the water level may temporarily dry out, and A. natans survives this period by entering a dormant state within its bulb, which can reach up to 2 cm in size. This plant likely requires resting periods when cultivated in an aquarium.
