Description
Aponogeton robinsonii is a rare plant in aquariums. It originates from central and southern Vietnam as well as Laos, typically found in slow-flowing rivers with very soft water on muddy or rocky substrate. The typical A. robinsonii develops mainly floating leaves. Some plants under this name have long, ribbon-shaped, wavy submerged leaves but no true floating leaves, which were first imported by Ingo Hertel in 1981 and are commonly known as "normal" A. robinsonii. However, these plants correspond to Aponogeton eberhardtii, a separate species described by A. Camus in 1912.
