Description

Caloglossa cf. beccarii is a red alga that was first observed in European aquaria in the 1990s. It has a brown, dark purple, or greyish green color and consists of ramified thalli with leaf-like lanceolate fronds and narrower intermediate parts where rhizoids are located. The plant often forms moss-like tufts or tangled clumps and attaches itself to tank decorations, plants, or mosses using its rhizoids.
