Description

Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' is a variety with reddish-brown, well-structured leaves. It originates from Mi Oya river on Sri Lanka, where water temperature is warm. The plant grows well in a nutrient-rich substrate and requires moderate to high light levels. In low-light conditions, it tends to grow vertically, while more light leads to horizontal leaf position. CO2 supplementation is not necessary. Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' does not rot easily and can thrive emersed with proper humidity. It adapts quickly from submersed to emersed cultivation. Propagation occurs through runners, producing many plantlets that can be replanted. This variety grows relatively large and is best placed in the middleground or background of smaller aquaria.
