Description

Echinodorus maculatus 'Leopard' was first cultivated in 1988. It is a mutation of E. maculatus, discovered among other seedlings at Hans Barth's aquatic plant nursery in Dessau, Germany. This variety features more intensely brown-spotted leaves and distinct heart-shaped leaf blade bases on young plants. The spots remain on the leaves for a longer period than those found on original E. maculatus, with growth being slightly slower.
