Description

Echinodorus parviflorus, also known as the Black Amazon Swordplant, is actually a variety of E. grisebachii, a species widely distributed in the American tropics. This form was likely originally imported from Bolivia and Peru's Amazon region. The popular name "Black Amazon Swordplant" refers to the dark coloration of young leaves. This relatively easy-to-care-for sword plant does not require intense light and develops beautiful rosettes with many leaves. Its maximum height of 30 cm makes it suitable as a solitary plant for medium-sized tanks.
