Description

Echinodorus paniculatus, a bog plant, can grow up to one meter high. It's native to Central and South America, where it's commonly found in large numbers. It often inhabits water bodies influenced by human activities, such as road ditches. This species is rarely cultivated. E. paniculatus has been mistakenly traded under the name Echinodorus americanus. The plant has a distinctive emersed form with long, upright leaf stalks and lanceolate to narrowly oval leaves. The inflorescence develops in emersed plants, grows upright, branches out, and bears relatively large flowers, typically reaching the same height as the leaf rosette. Submersed leaves are band-shaped or narrowly lanceolate with relatively long stalks.
