Description

Echinodorus 'Smaragd' is a selectively bred, exclusively green mutant of E. 'Rubin', developed by Hans Barth. It has linear leaves similar to those of E. uruguayensis, with a medium green base color and lighter-colored leaf veins. The leaf blades grow up to 15 cm long and 2.5-3 cm wide, while the leaf stalk reaches up to 10 cm in length. This variety requires moderate light and is suitable for medium-sized tanks due to its small size, making it an alternative to larger-growing forms of Echinodorus uruguayensis.

Nitrate (NO3): 10-50mg/L
Phosphate (PO4): 0.1-3mg/L
Potassium (K): 5-30mg/L
Iron (Fe): 0.01-0.5mg/L
