Description
Echinodorus 'Tricolor' was bred in a Czech Republic nursery and introduced to aquarists in 2004. The variety's name refers to its leaves, which can display three colors. Its leaves are oblong-ovate with an obtuse tip, reduced base, and undulate margin. They grow up to 15 cm long and 8 cm wide. Leaf stalks reach 15 cm in length. Young leaves are light green, sometimes pinkish or brown-dotted, transitioning to darker green upon maturity. This variety is easy to cultivate and grows well under medium light conditions, occasionally producing flower stalks with adventitious plants in the aquarium.
