Description
Juncus repens, also known as the lesser creeping rush, is a unique plant that combines stem and rosulate characteristics. Its flat stem is interrupted by tufts of long, pointed leaves at regular intervals. This species is native to the southeastern United States, where it grows both emersed and submersed. It is relatively easy to care for and can thrive in various lighting conditions, ranging from low to strong light. The plant assumes a reddish hue when exposed to bright light and good nutrient supply, while moderate light produces a beautiful green color. Its moderate growth rate makes it suitable for most aquascaping needs, although it may be susceptible to green spot algae. Propagation involves cutting off the upper part of a shoot under a leaf cluster and replanting it without roots.
