Limnophila aromatica "Mini" is a small stem plant that was initially known as Limnophila sp. "Mini" or L. sp. "Kalimantan Mini". Its flower characteristics match those of Limnophila aromatica, making it a dwarf form of the species. The origin of this plant is unclear, but its trading name suggests it may have been found in Kalimantan, Indonesia. This plant differs from other forms of L. aromatica by staying much smaller and having underwater leaves with serrated edges that rarely exceed 1-2.5 cm in length. These leaves are arranged in pairs or whorls, typically with 3 leaves per whorl. With intense lighting, ample CO2, and nutrient supply, the plant can produce longer (3-5 cm) and wider (4-5 mm) leaves that occur in up to six per whorl. The stems of this plant can grow over 30 cm tall, but it looks best when shaped into a group around 10-20 cm in diameter. The submerged leaves turn brown-red with intense lighting, while the leaf midribs and stems remain light green. With moderate lighting, the leaves are rather light green.
