Description
According to Kasselmann (2010), Ludwigia "Mesakana" is a form of Ludwigia repens, although it also resembles the hybrid L. palustris x repens. The leaves of this plant grow larger and have a rounder shape compared to other varieties of L. repens and L. palustris x repens. They are also more colorful and display a more pronounced pattern. This Ludwigia requires high micronutrient supply, is competitive with other Ludwigias, and performs well in softer water. However, the leaves on strong shoots may wilt and be shed without reason, causing the shoots to die off.
