Description

Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is a gold-colored cultivar of Lysimachia nummularia, also known as golden creeping Jenny or moneywort. It grows relatively fast and is undemanding, thriving in soft to hard water with pH 6-8 and temperatures 15-26°C. The plant prefers stronger light and CO2 supplementation, but can tolerate low lights without CO2 injection. Nitrate and micronutrient-rich environments are recommended. Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' is an indicator plant that requires sufficient NO3 (>5 mg/l) to form healthy leaves. Deficiencies cause the plant to stagnate. The plant grows vertically, producing few lateral shoots, and can be propagated by cutting off the top or lateral shoots. It forms many roots on its nodes and can be trimmed and replanted in the substrate.
