Description

Myriophyllum mezianum is a milfoil species native to the eastern coast of Madagascar, specifically in shallow waters and inundation areas along the Ambodimanga river. It grows both emersed and submersed, with leaves that are light green in color and have a finely feathered texture. The shoot tips exhibit a reddish tint. M. mezianum is a slower-growing species compared to others in the hobby. Optimal growth conditions include very soft water, high-intensity lighting, and CO2 injection, as well as a good nutrient supply. It thrives best at temperatures above 25°C. Individual stems should be planted about a few centimeters apart to form small groups, making M. mezianum most effective as a midground plant.
