Description

Nymphoides ezannoi is a small floating heart species found in northern African tropics, from Senegal to Sudan. It grows with floating leaves in permanent or periodically dry, stagnant waters. The plant's name honors collector Père Ezanno. Leaves are 5-10 cm long and roundish. White flowers (2 cm large) appear on the leaf stalk, accompanied by adventitious plants. In aquariums, plantlets may develop submersed leaves but soon produce only floating leaves. This water lily is easy to cultivate, suitable for open tanks or paludaria, and requires nutrient-rich substrate.
