Description

Physostegia purpurea is a perennial swamp plant from southeastern USA that can grow both emersed and submerged. It develops an approximately 10 cm tall rosette of elongated leaves when grown underwater. In its terrestrial form, it grows up to 1 m tall flowering shoots with opposite leaves.
