Description
Ranalisma rostratum is a small plant native to the Asian tropics and subtropics, often mislabeled as "Ranalisma rostrata". When grown emersed, its leaves are roundish with stalks, and the inflorescence typically consists of a single flower, followed by an erinaceous aggregate fruit containing numerous rostrate nutlets. The submersed form has light green linear leaves similar to those of Helanthium tenellum "parvulum". R. rostratum produces long runners that are modified inflorescences (pseudo-stolons).
