Description

The Salvinia auriculata species group, which includes S. auriculata, S. biloba, S. herzogii, and S. molesta, originates from tropical America but is also introduced in other parts of the world. This group includes floating ferns sold under the name "Salvinia natans", which actually belong to the Salvinia auriculata group, not to be confused with the annual species Salvinia natans native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
