Trichomanes javanicum

Trichómanes javánicum

Family: Hymenophyllaceae
Genus: Trichomanes

Description

Trichomanes javanicum is a fern native to South-East Asia, where it grows along riverbanks and other areas. Its leaves are dark green and slightly transparent, resembling those of Bolbitis heudelotii. Unlike Bolbitis, Trichomanes javanicum does not produce a creeping rhizome but instead grows upright with rosulate leaves. In its natural habitat, the roots form mat-like structures on the substrate.
