Description

Vesicularia reticulata, also known as "Erect Moss", is a popular choice among aquarists. Its stems and branches grow upright when cultivated submersed in a tank, while they exhibit a creeping habit in their emersed form. Native to the Asian tropics, where it thrives in moist habitats. Under close examination, the leaves of this plant are ovate to lanceolate with an apiculate long tip. Some specimens may be mislabeled as "Erect Moss", actually belonging to Taxiphyllum species or even V. reticulata itself, which is sometimes mistakenly sold under the name "Craton(n)euron filicinum". This aquarium plant prefers moderate to intense light for optimal growth.
